About Us

Community Foundations have a unique position in the voluntary sector. We are placed at the centre of any number of networks able to bring people together. We are also some of the very few organisations offering match funding for charitable donations through our Grassroots Grants Endowment Match Challenge.

Working with Donors we facilitate charitable giving and offer philanthropy advice for those wishing to get more involved in their communities.  Donors can contribute to the Community Foundations in many ways, they can set up a endowed fund with us, they can join the various Friends/Ambassadors schemes and visit the groups they fund.  Donors who manage their philanthropy through the Community Foundations can use the knowledge and skills of the foundations to help fulfill their objectives.

Working with Groups we provide funding for their activities including money for the basics, rent, insurance and other core expenditure.  We advise groups making them "fit to fund" and signpost them to others who can help them with the practical requirements and other sources of funding.

We work closely with Professional Advisors - keeping them informed of services that adds value to the solicitor or accountant/client relationship.  We turn to our Professional Advisors to keep us abreast of tax efficient giving and legal updates.

Other key stakeholders for Community Foundations are the statutory authorities the business community and the media, all of who are either lobbied by us or help to promote our work.
